Since 2004 Stuart Wills has operated as a Henderson mortgage broker, firstly on Lincoln Road before moving into the chartered accountants offices of UHY Haines Norton in Catherine Street.
The Henderson Office Has Moved
Recently Stuart Wills who was a West Auckland / Henderson mortgage broker (Mortgage Link licensee) decided there was a need to shift closer to where the residential expansion was taking place, and decided to relocate the business to Hobsonville.
From the offices in Hobsonville it is easier to get onto the motorway to travel to and from the North Shore and West Auckland. Stuart says “we are now in the heart of North West Auckland so can be known not only as West Auckland mortgage brokers but North Shore mortgage brokers too”.
Of course people will often just consider them as Auckland mortgage brokers and for people living overseas wanting to find a mortgage broker they will just be a New Zealand mortgage broker.
In fact most people know Stuart Wills the mortgage broker rather than the brand that hangs above the door.
Mortgages and finance is really a people business with mums and dads contacting mortgage advisers like Stuart Wills for good common sense advice.
Professional Offices & Professional People
Most mortgage brokers in New Zealand work by themselves from their homes and of course this is a cheaper way to operate a business, but as we are often told ‘cheaper’ is not ‘better’ and this is the case with mortgage brokers too.
Stuart & Erica Wills have always taken pride of having a professional business run from professional offices in West Auckland so even in the recent Global Financial Crisis (GFC) when the mortgage and finance industry was in turmoil Mortgage Link remained one of only two mortgage brokers with offices in West Auckland – the other being what is now known as The Mortgage Supply Company.
Since the GFC we have seen a few more mortgage brokers set up offices; however it will be interesting to see if they remain in business when the next downturn hits – at the time that you need them most.
Stuart Wills has been in the financial services industry since 1997 and plans to be around for a good number of years yet!
Fired Up & Ready To Expand
Having now settled into the new offices in Hobsonville, Stuart and Erica are ready to expand their business.
You will no doubt see and hear more from the team as they get involved in the local area and get their branding completed.
Internally there are some changes happening too as the IT systems are reviewed with new client management systems, a better and more accurate mortgage tool and efforts to streamline and integrate the systems so things are more efficient and therefore can produce the right outcomes faster.
There will also be some additional members added to the team to ensure that more business can be done but most importantly more time can be spent with people to ensure that there home loans and finances are reviewed and changes made where necessary.
Clive Brumby is the first new mortgage adviser to join the team and there are plans for another one or two mortgage advisers this year.
So while there may be a few people in Henderson sad to see an established mortgage broker move, the fact is from the new Hobsonville offices it is easier to operate for both North and West Auckland.
